Creating A New Canadian Leader In Recruitment Advertising & Employer Branding

TUESDAY, JANUARY 4, 2022 — Today, Markham-based webTactics Inc. announced its acquisition of DAY Communications Group Inc. of Toronto, in a deal that creates the largest Canadian-owned recruitment marketing communications entity in the country.

This was an acquisition that made sense on all fronts” he added.

“With the talent acquisition marketplace in a state of flux due to the impacts of COVID-19 and an overall labour shortage, agencies must also evolve and enhance their capabilities if they hope to create the innovative talent acquisition strategies and programs their clients require,” said Russell. “DAY Communications and webTactics means that together we will be well-positioned to play a greater role in driving transformation across a complex and rapidly changing landscape”.

Both companies will continue to operate as separate entities under their existing brand names. “There is deeply established brand equity with both firms, and no need to change that in an era where collaboration and innovation are more important mechanisms to achieving our growth objectives” said Russell.

In addition to Bill Russell, the new leadership team is comprised of Jeff Hurrell and Shannon Moran of webTactics, and Kate Marshall and Mark Balsdon of DAY Communications. Under the terms of the agreement, Andy Day will remain in a consulting capacity.
